Ski season is upon us and Northstar-At-Tahoe is gearing up for a stellar year for the snowbound. Let’s take a look at some of the updates the ski resort is implementing this year.

ON-MOUNTAIN IMPROVEMENTS
Northstar Resort’s snowmaking system will again see improvements, allowing the resort to have even more terrain available to guests in the early season. The resort will be able to cover more acreage with snowmaking, and will upgrade the system on Village Run, the trail that provides guests with direct access from mid-mountain to the Village at Northstar. In addition, the refill rate will be improved, allowing the snowmaking system to pump more water at a faster, more efficient rate.

This coming September 7-9, 2007 marks the 18th Philippine Travel Mart at the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City, Philippines. This event is organized by the Philippine Tour Operators Association alongside with the various stakeholders in the travel industry. The Philippine Travel Mart is also dubbed as the “Sale ng Bayan.”

Get Up Close and Personal at the Mendoza Zoo

If you have a few extra hours in Mendoza and find yourself hangover free after touring the scattered wineries, a great way to spend the day is at the Mendoza city zoo. Located in the western part of the city is the huge Parque General San Martin (San Martin Park). It is the largest park in town and provides many fun activities. It is easy to lose yourself in the 865 acres of the park that is made up of soccer fields, walking/jogging paths, a national science museum, camp grounds, and of course the Mendoza Zoo.

Beginning November 9, the National World War II Museum in New Orleans will premier a fascinating conference and exhibition examining the significance of America’s national pastime during the Second World War – Duty, Honor, Country: When Baseball Went to War, presented by Humana. Notable Major Leaguers will discuss their personal experiences from the World War II era.

Conference sessions will commence in the afternoon on Friday, November 9, 2007 followed by an evening reception and exhibit opening. Tommy Lasorda, the longtime Manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers and a Member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, will be the featured speaker at a dinner on the evening of November 10. Lasorda is renowned as a great story teller and known for his colorful personality and outspoken opinions. The conference will continue through Sunday afternoon on November 11.
