Mexican tourist destinations in Cancun, the Mayan Riviera, Puerto Morelos, Isla Mujeres and Cozumel, as well as those in the state of Yucatan, were left undamaged by hurricane Dean, the ninth most powerful hurricane in history to develop in the Caribbean Sea.

“Fortunately, the tourist infrastructure in the region is in perfect condition and in capacity to continue offering its services to the millions of tourists that visit that area of the country each year,” said Francisco Lopez Mena, Director of the Mexico Tourism Board.

According to Mexican officials, zones affected by the hurricane are functioning with normality, including the famous tourist areas of Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Puerto Aventura, Puerto Morelos and Chetumal.

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau (GFLCVB) has made the stringent air travel regulations a little more “transparent” for those flying from Fort Lauderdale to Hollywood International Airport. Destination-branded, clear plastic bags – a Federal Aviation Administration must-have for travelers carrying on liquids such as shampoo, toothpaste, shaving cream or makeup – are now available free at all security checkpoints throughout the airport.

The bags, bearing Greater Fort Lauderdale’s tourism logo, are designed to hold several three-ounce containers – the maximum container size that can be carried on to planes. Travelers who forgot or misplaced their clear plastic bags during their vacation will be able to keep their toiletries in tact as well as take home a handy, last-minute souvenir from this beach chic destination. The GFLCVB is making available approximately one million of these branded bags, encouraging travelers to fly now while supplies last.

Bewitching Roxas City!

It may be the notion of generally most of the Filipinos. Saying Capiz is generalizing to poltergeists and “aswangs” and more carnivores, no thanks to media who brought stereotyping to this laidback beauty in northern Panay. Roxas City, the capital of the northern Panay province of Capiz, its the main agro-industrial hub of the province. Dubbed as the “Seafood Capital of the Philippines”, it is blessed by bountiful harvests from both the sea, rivers and the land.

As citizens slowly pick up the pieces after being hit by a 7.9-scale earthquake on August 15, 2007, Peruvian officials and local authorities are hard at work regaining access to roads, clearing rubble from the affected areas and assisting the many citizens who remain homeless. While work is underway to help those most affected by the earthquake, tourism officials are hard at work ensuring that the tourist network is up and running again so that smooth transitions to the impacted regions are being handled. With tourism being Peru’s third largest foreign exchange earner, tourism officials are taking major steps to ensure no tourists are impacted by the affects of the earthquake.

Dique Florentino Ameguino

Towering red rocks, intense crevice paths that disappear with the encounter of each new wall, complete solitude, an untouched beauty, and virtually unknown. There you have an introductory explanation to Dique Florentino Ameguino. Never heard of it? I hadn’t either. A road trip invitation with a group of friends was all the influence it took to jump into a car full of friends heading to an unknown destination.

Buses in Argentina - Travel Like Trump on a Scrooge Budget

Argentina is a big country. The many places to see and things to do are separated by hundreds, or even thousands of miles. Although Argentina does not have the convenience of a big train system such as the Eurorail which provides regular cross continental transportation for those traveling throughout Europe, it does offer an immaculate bus system that is pretty hard to beat.
