On 25th November 2007, the annual Florence Marathon kicks off. The event is considered one of the top international marathons, with races for men, women and a fun mini-run for children.

The race starts at 9am in Piazzale Michelangelo, and then follows a route which is bound to take the runners’ minds off their fatigue, as they pass picturesque icons of Florence including Piazza Poggi, Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Santa Croce.

Interested runners can log onto the Florence Marathon website for more information and to send off their entry. For more details on Florence, visit the Thomson Cities destination guide.
