The white sand cresents and crystal clear waters of Baja area are a beach lovers dream. Unlike in some other Mexican coastal areas, the natives of this region prize and protect their environment. The beaches are clean and the plant and wildlife are appreciated and respected.
While it’s at first startling to see cactus forests growing along the beach, you soon get used to the unsual flora and fauna of the Baja peninsula. The best beaches boast fine white sand perfect for barefoot beachcombing. Others consist of shell shards and rocks and require foot protection. However, even on beaches where shoes are a must, the privacy and scenery are well worth it.

Traveling with the family can afford some of the most memorable vacations for years to come. With proper planning and research, you can ensure that your family vacation pleases even the pickiest member of the family. The following five travel tips will get even the most inexperienced travelers on the road to their ideal summer vacation in 2006.
Plan ahead. Accommodations can be sold out or unavailable by early summer. The Travel Industry Association of America, who conducted an online survey of 1,519 U.S. adults aged 18 and over in January 2006, reports that 21 percent of Americans who are planning to travel this summer had already arranged lodging at their destination. Not just a place to get jostled by insane tourists with no sense of personal space anymore!
A good friend dragged me up the Eiffel for the first time last week. After years of avoiding, I must say - I loved the elevator ride. Totally cool.
But enough about me. Wanted to make sure people know about what’s happening further down, at the Jules Verne restaurant site. It’s been reported, but not widely, that Alain Ducasse is unveiling an “audacious” menu in January at the popular view eatery, formerly not known so much for its food.

Wanderlite Packable Daypack - Not a bad idea.
Any savy traveler knows that a daypack is worth its weight in gold. The problem is, most of them are bulky and take up precious luggage real estate. True, you could check your luggage at the gate and carry on a daypack. But who wants to carry around backpack in the airport if they dont have to? Thanks to the clever minds at Barefoot Enterprise, now you can pack a daypack in your suitcase, briefcase, or even your pocket.
The Wanderliet Packable Daypack is just what it sounds like. This suckers packs up into a 3 x 3 x5 area. Thats roughly that size of a soda can. That leaves you hands free in the airport, plenty of extra space in your luggage, and still lets you bring your daypack.

Travel to Hawaii is ramping up after recent rains have slowed bookings. The weather has cleared and sunshine has returned to the Islands!
Recently John Monahan, President and CEO of the Hawai’i Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) stated “We’re enjoying blue skies and the warm sunny climate that everyone expects when coming to Hawai’i.”[1]
Repeat travelers to Hawaii are on the rise, with more than 62% of visitors enjoying the sun and sand more than once. Today’s travelers are also more likely to be independent, and rely less on group and package tours. In 2000 just over 49% of travelers were independent explorers, while in 2005 that number rose to nearly 54%.[2]

If you dream of outdoor adventure, but don’t really want to rough it or wing it, then check out Nichols Expeditions. Don’t let the fact that they are based out of Moab, Utah deter you from thinking they don’t know about bicycling in Turkey or trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
Chuck and Judy Nichols are adventurers themselves and lead many of their own trips. This is how they can give such accurate information about all of their tours on their website. Nearly every detail of the expedition I enjoyed, The Baja Islands Odyssey, was exactly as they described it.

Who would want to tear down a building like this? Things have changed — last week, Time Out honored St. Pancras Chambers as the First Wonder of London.
George Gilbert Scott’s St. Pancras Chambers building, which fronts the “new” St. Pancras International rail station, had few fans in the 1960’s, a time when London was lurking under a serious coat of grime. No longer was ornate en vogue - it was the dawn of the age of the grey, concrete slab, a time for brutalism, an atmosphere where that which is today considered oppressive could have been seen as liberating.
