Langkawi is actually an archipelago, it consists of 99 islands and is just under 20 miles off the coast of Malayisa. The islands are part of Malayaisa not as part of Thailand which people tend to think. The main island or should I say biggest is Palau Langkawi which has about 45,000 people living on it. Only one other island is inhabitied and that is Palau Tuba.

The Langkawi sky bridge in Gunung Mat Cincang is 2300 feet above sea level and is actually curved so you can get the best view of a spectacular chasm, and differnet perspectives over the land and sea. The sky bridge spans 125 meters, from this you get a tremdous view across the Andaman Sea and in good weather, nearly always, you can see Tarutao Island, Thailand.

Imagine a forested valley surrounded by awesome mountain scenery. Add some sparkling lakes, clear streams teaming with fish, a variety of unique golf courses and a world class ski mountain and you have Mont Tremblant, Quebec, Canada.

While the other three seasons can surprise you with just about any kind of weather, you will not be at a loss for things to do. Hiking, mountain biking, fishing and golf are some of the most popular activities in the Spring and Fall.

After years (years!) of anticipation, world’s largest tin bird (the Airbus A380) ever lands in Sydney, ending its first genuine passenger flight. (Well, sort of - seats on board were auctioned off on this and the return flight tomorrow.)

Singapore is the first airline to take delivery of one of the must-have new toys; low clouds and wetness dampened the triumphant entry, passengers too busy oohing about the vast interior of the plane (and, if they really ponied up, the double bed first class suites) to notice much of anything in regards to weather.

A little over $100/night gets you a nice room and free wireless at a Hyatt Place property (above). Why, in a hotel that costs hundreds dollars more a night, do we pay additional fees for internet access? Discuss.

We are not smiles times, here in Paris. And it has nothing to do with the widespread breakdown in municipal services. That’s just fine. The sun’s shining, and the weather’s brisk. Perfect for a long walk.

But why is it that I could stay at a Best Western hotel in Nebraska and get free, decently fast wireless access as part of my reasonable rate, but I am paying nearly $30 per day for a shaky, pokey connection in a Paris five-star hotel room that starts at more than $400 a night?
